AGRO INNOVA LAUNCHES A FULFILMENT CENTER IN GHANA

Agro Innova, a Ghanaian AgriTech Company has recently launched a Fulfilment Center in the North East Region of Ghana to support smallholder farmers in the region. This facility was opened officially in January 2024 and has the capacity of 600 MT to store agricultural produce such as maize, soybeans, shea nuts and groundnuts. Although the facility is located specifically at Nalerigu, the regional capital of the North East region, it is intended to serve neighboring towns such as Gambaga, Nabong, Tamboku, Tune, Gbintele, Sakorugu, Lamgbinsi etc.

The Northern regions of Ghana is known for its heavy dependency on agriculture with about 90% of households engaged in crop farming such as maize, shea nut, groundnut, soya beans and cowpea. The Agriculture sector has been the driver of poverty reduction and largest source of employment for the people of Northern Ghana dominated by smallholder farmers. This facility is expected to serve about 5,000 smallholder farmers in the various rural communities and villages in the Region.

The CEO, Moses Mallaghan also mentioned that the company has in addition acquired some number of motorcycles and tricycles to support the Last Mile approach to reaching these farmers. He also added that this is just one of the many Fulfilment Centers that the company intends to build across the country in its quest to improve food security.
